Litigation Writs 25/03/97

A Beaconsfield man who was badly injured in a road accident which also killed his wife is now claiming damages in the High Court. The writ issued by Anthony Lamont says he and his wife, Robyn Lamont, and Ross Sheppard were waiting to cross the A355 Amersham Road at Beaconsfield when the accident happened on 15 May 1994. It says the driver being sued, Philip Calam, drove his Vauxhall Nova out of a side road into the path of a Volvo on the main road, causing the Volvo driver to lose control of his car and crash into the pedestrians. Mr Lamont, 41, injured his back and legs, and suffered psychological injuries and Mrs Lamont, who was 35, died from her injuries. Calam was later convicted by Beaconsfield Magistrates of driving without due care and attention.

Writ was issued by Philip Ross & Co, London W1.

A boundary dispute between Susan Rubin and her Chiswick High Road neighbours is heading for the High Court. Rubin, of 121-123 Chiswick High Road, London W4, claims in her writ that her neighbours have removed a garden wall between their properties and have dug a trench along the boundary which extends 18 inches into her property. It says that despite calls by her for them to rebuild the wall and stop trespassing, Abbas Ismail, Pyarali Ismail and Sadra Ismail, of 90 Turnham Green Terrace, London W4, who own the neighbouring property at 125, Chiswick High Road have refused. Now Mrs Rubin is to seek court orders to make them reinstate the garden and the wall and an injunction to stop them trespassing.
