Acquisition financing was provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland, advised by Berwin Leighton Paisner (Mark Waghorn).
Howard Kennedy (Michael Chapelow) advised Mayfair Real Estate, established by Gulfinvest International Group, on the £22m purchase of four office buildings in London, W1, for a total acquisition cost of £22.568mn. CMS Cameron Mckenna and Hamlins advised the vendors. Taylor Wessing advised the lender, Bank of Scotland.
Clifford Chance (Jonathan Solomon) advised Hammerson and the City Corporation on the 750,000 sq ft pre-letting to Allen & Overy at Spitalfields; and acted for the City Corporation in granting A&O the option to take a pre-letting of a building to be constructed at the nearby London Fruit & Wool Exchange. Nabarro Nathanson acted on tax, Norton Rose on planning and Herbert Smith on construction. The Clifford Chance team also represented Hammerson on the arrangements for the structured buy-down of the City Corporation's interest in the project.
