Nottingham firm Berryman has launched a reorganisation and recovery team with two hires from HBJ Gately Wareing.
Sue Lowry and Carl Mifflin, insolvency associate and assistant at HBJ Gateley respectively, join the new firm as associate and solicitor.
The team will be led by corporate partner Patrick Billyeald, who specialises in corporate restructuring. Billyeald said additional advice will also be given by lawyers including IP partner Steven Skiba, construction partner Richard Brackenbury, and employment associate Ginny Hallam.
As first reported in The Lawyer (23 October), Berryman also recently elected a new managing partner. Founder and head of the property practice James Jarvis will replace incumbent Andy Matthews, who steps down after his second three-year term, at the end of the year.
Jarvis said he will seek to ensure the firm is flexible enough to adapt to the post-Clementi legal world.
Known as Berryman Shacklock until December 2005, Berryman has five equity-partners.
