Orrick raids White & Case for Russian team in Tokyo

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe have raided White & Case to add a new Russian practice team to its Tokyo office.

Sergey Milanov, Dmitri Rezchikov and Alexey Losev are set to join the firm as of counsel, associate and researcher, respectively.

Milanov and Rezckikov have advised Japanese clients on foreign investment ventures.

Milanov remains the only Russian attorney in Japan to become qualified as a gaiben with the Tokyo Bar Association – a qualification which allows him to advise on Russian law in Japan.

Orrick’s Tokyo managing partner James Tervo said: “Having Sergey, Dmitri and Alexey join our team is a significant addition because of the expanded investment being made by Japanese companies into Russia.”
