Former ;DLA ;Piper Glasgow partner David Thomson has joined the real estate practice at Scottish firm McClure Naismith.

Thomson was one of a series of property partners to depart DLA Piper in Scotland last year. He exited the firm in November.

Thomson had joined DLA Piper as part of its merger with Scottish firm Bird Semple in 2000. His departure and that of partner Anne McGregor last December left just four former Bird Semple partners at the firm out of the 19 who joined as part of the merger.

At McClures chairman Alan Thomson said the firm was focused on attracting key hires during the recession.
