Tulkinghorn is delighted to announce the winner of The Lawyer's competition to win a sumptuous weekend in Cliveden, in the Thames Valley. Despite Mrs Tulkinghorn spending hours sending numerous entries, all the while muttering, “I'm not going to take a curmudgeonly old man with me, I've got other options you know,” she failed to scoop the prize.
Instead, Nicholas Eleanor, who is a legal risks manager at Norwich Union, was picked from hundreds of entries to get away from it all at the five-star retreat.
Tulkinghorn's assistant, who rang him with the news, said that Mr Eleanor was “delighted”. No doubt because Cliveden is the only hotel and stately home to be awarded a five-star status and still maintains its tradition of excellent service, fine dining, sumptuous rest and relaxation. Sounds a little like the bed and breakfast in Rhyl where Tulkinghorn always spends his holidays. Oh, and if Mr Eleanor is looking for someone to take with him, Mrs Tulkinghorn says she is available at very short notice.
