DLA has confirmed that Dutch firm Schut & Grosheide has agreed to join its European Alliance DLA & Partners in the next few weeks – and says that another four firms will join within six months.
The two firms are already working on joint ventures together after five months of talks.
Talks between the two firms were first revealed by The Lawyer in April (The Lawyer, 10 April).
DLA managing partner Nigel Knowles says that he can confidently predict that there will be eight alliance members before the end of the year. There are three members in Barcelona, Brussels and Paris.
DLA is in talks with Italian and German firms and three other jurisdictions.
The firm is also in the middle of a project called USA 2000 which involves talking to regional firms in the US.
