Eversheds is turning the tables on its clients with a training course on how they should manage their panels.
The news comes two years after Eversheds was berated by client Honda for its “superficial” relationship skills. It seems to have learnt some lessons, with recent client wins including Axa, Cooperative Group and Akzo Nobel.
Client relationship partner Denise Jagger told The Lawyer: “It’s clear people don’t have the time to draw up the right documents or instigate a review to get the best out of a firm.”
This month Eversheds will host a workshop for 50 in-house counsel. It will aim the training at clients that are about to kick off a panel review or that have never carried one out.
The course will cover the entire process, from drafting an invitation to tender to ensuring that law firms make good on the promises in their pitches.
