Fasken signs White & Case South Africa mining head

This comes as fellow White & Case global metals and mining co-chief Glen Ireland resigned from the firm along with 12 other partners to join Latham & Watkins (The Lawyer, 8 February).

A spokesperson at White & Case said the firm had not decided on a replacement yet, arguing that Heersche’s move was “very much a personal move rather than anything else – she’s heading back to Canada”.

Heersche could not be reached when contacted by The Lawyer. However, a spokesperson at Fasken said that “client matters might take her elsewhere, but her primary base at the moment is South Africa”.
