Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BLG) has scooped a senior Financial Services Authority (FSA) lawyer in the first hire for its six-month old financial services regulatory team.
Ian Mason, head of the FSA’s enforcement division’s wholesale group, joins BLG as a partner. He becomes a member of the financial services regulatory department headed by Chris Warren-Smith.
Mason joins the firm after six years with the FSA, including two as head of department.
Warren-Smith said BLG planned to develop its services to clients in the enforcement area as a result of Mason’s hire.
The financial services regulatory team was launched in June this year and brings together BLG’s contentious and non-contentious expertise in advising clients on regulatory matters.
