BakerPlatt, the Jersey-based legal and professional services group allied to UK chambers 7 Bedford Row, has hired former white-collar crime prosecutor John Moscow.

Moscow, who is based in New York, spent 30 years at the New York County District Attorney’s Office. He headed the office’s investigations into the Bank of Credit and Commerce International, Enron and Tyco.

BakerPlatt managing partner Stephen Platt said Moscow’s appointment would boost the team’s US expertise. He added: “It’s time that people recognise that the chances of finding themselves in front of a grand jury in New York are about as great as them finding themselves in their domestic jurisdictions.”

Moscow joins as a senior associate.
