Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is set to shake-up its Rome and Milan management with the introduction of an all-Italian line-up.
In September, Milan-based capital markets partner Bruno Castellini will replace Mario Ortu as co-office managing partner.
While in Rome, Raffaele Lener, a financial services partner, will become the office administrator, taking over from partner Fabrizio Arossa who will retain his positions on the partnership council and the partnership recommendation committee.
Lener is then expected to become Rome co-office managing partner next year when the current incumbent Philip Richards returns to the UK.
Richards said, “This marks the end of the initial phase and it also underlines the increasing importance of our Rome office.”
