Cut off in their prime

Tulkinghorn has observed that the great city of London has not been too kind to poor old US firm Howrey. The firm has had to change its tactics in the big smoke to get noticed, and the office has seen partners coming in and out of its doors as if it were a City strip club.

But fortunes are beginning to change. The IP guys just racked up an important win in the House of Lords. All good so far, then. Except it’s not.

One of Tulkinghorn’s moles, while trying to get through to the said IP team on the telephone, found that the office number didn’t work. And nor did any of the direct lines.

According to one partner, the blackout was due to a BT workman accidentally hacking through the main telephone cable of the Howrey office, leaving the lawyers unable to do business. The London curse strikes again.
