In an article in the 7 July edition, we reported that Middleton Potts had fought off a £30m claim against it. Middleton Potts has asked us to point out that the settlement included a dismissal of the claim against the firm with no payment made to the claimants.

CC considers foray into European debt market
Clifford Chance, which in January became the first European firm to raise funds through a private placement, is contemplating a return trip to the debt market, this time opting for a European private placement. Clifford Chance finance director Chris Merry said the firm is, at the moment, just considering launching a private placement. If it does choose to sell bonds, it will opt for a European-based placement in either euro or sterling-denominated notes.
