The chief legal officer of SunGard Data Systems Larry Gross has joined US firm Morgan Lewis & Bockius after the software house was bought by a private equity consortium for $11.4bn (£6.02bn) in April.
Gross was SunGard’s general counsel from shortly after its public offering in 1986 until the beginning of 2005, when he became chief legal officer and chief administrative officer, as first revealed on www. thelawyer.com (17 August).
Morgan Lewis chairman Fran Milone said: “Larry was a key member of the senior management team that led SunGard to extraordinary success and we look forward to having his legal and business acumen, leadership and organisational skills available.”
He joins Morgan Lewis as a partner in the firm’s business and finance group.
During his 20-year tenure at SunGard the company grew from $50m (£26.39m) to $4bn (£2.11bn) in revenue.
