Law Soc commends Hertfordshire Uni

The University of Hertfordshire law school has received the Law Society’s ‘commendable practice’ grade, its highest rating, for five out of six assessment areas. The society’s assessment, completed this month, gave the school the rating for the core areas of: assessment; students and support; learning resources; leadership andmanagement; and quality assurance and enhancement. The Law Society gave its middle grade, ‘confidence in practice’, for Hertfordshire’s teaching, learning and curriculum. LPC director James Roy said: “We didn’t want to get commendable in all six areas, otherwise staff would get complacent.” The assessment is subject to ratification by the LPC board.
