Partners go Pole prancing

Tulkinghorn is tempted to say hats off to the three Clifford Chance partners who are to embark on a gruelling, unsupported 10-day trek across the Polar ice cap, but they’ll probably need them.

The trio – Michael Bates, Alan Inglis and new London finance head Mark Stewart – plan to trek from the 89th parallel to the geographic North Pole, raising cash for charities The Place2Be and Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice.

They head off on 6 April on the 60-mile expedition after six months of training on Dartmoor, the Brecon Beacons and, perhaps less SAS stylee, Hertfordshire footpaths. They’ve probably been using the stairs at Canary Wharf too.
