Thirteen candidates are set to fight it out for just five places on Allen & Overy’s (A&O) management board.
The magic circle firm announced the names of the candidates this morning (21 February). Five of the seven seats on A&O’s key policy making body are up for grabs. The remaining two are occupied by senior partner David Morley and managing partner Guy Beringer.
The London-based candidates are Anne Baldock (projects) and Jonathan Brayne (projects), Tim House (litigation), Alan Paul (corporate), Paul Phillips (financial regulatory), Ian Powell (banking), Karen Seward (employment, pensions and incentives), and Boyan Wells (capital markets).
Outside of the City, Brussels managing partner Wim Dejonghe and Amsterdam senior partner Sietze Hepkema have put their name forward alongside German corporate partner Reinhard Hermes and Paris tax partner Siamak Mostafavi. New York-based banking partner Carl Sheldon completes the line-up.
Baldock, Brayne, Dejonghe and Hepkema are current board members and are standing for re-election.
The positions on the board will be for four years. The partnership will vote on the candidates next month. The results will be announced on 23 March.
