Eversheds’ former Austrian associated firm Baier Lambert has rebranded as Baier Bohm following the loss of its name partner following its split with the UK firm.
The name change is in response the Vienna-based firm’s withdrawal from its membership in the Eversheds’ association in April, and the resulting departure of three of the firm’s partners, including name partner Peter Lambert, last month.
Lambert took a team of lawyers to form new firm Lambert Eversheds, which continues to be allied with the national UK firm.
Baier Bohm’s new name partner Erhard Bohm told The Lawyer that the firm’s decision to withdraw from its alliance with Eversheds was partly due to “a divergence in opinion and realising that we were losing out on attractive business because we had ceased to be seen as independent”.
The firm entered into the membership with Eversheds back in April 2004.
Last month Baier Bohm promoted two lawyers to partner status. Michael Buhme specialises in national and international insurance and Ingo Braun specialises in finance and sports law.
