London firm Wedlake Bell has acquired boutique private client outfit Beattie & Co.
Beattie & Co’s two partners, Jennifer Beattie and Jeremy Curtis, are both joining Wedlake Bell – Beattie as a consultant and Curtis as a partner. The merger brings the number of private client specialists at Wedlake Bell to 14, including six partners.
Beattie established Beattie & Co 20 years ago and the firm specialised in a wide range of private client work. Meanwhile Wedlake Bell’s private client team covers charity work, estate planning and on and offshore tax and trusts among other areas.
Wedlake Bell’s private client head Peter Watts said the merger will complement the firm’s existing practice.
