Pemberton Greenish and M Law link up with referral agreement” />West end media boutique M Law has formed a strategic alliance with Knightsbridge-based private client and property firm Pemberton Greenish.

The referral agreement, formalised last week, has already resulted in the media firm winning ongoing employment work from Pemberton Greenish client John Lyons school.

The idea for the arrangement originated from a Pemberton Greenish firm profile published in The Lawyer (18 October 2004).

M Law employment partner Nicola Raj saw the article and recognised a potential opportunity. “I emailed Giles [Pemberton],” she said, “and said that as we both provided specialist services, but didn’t appear to have any overlap, did he think there might be an opportunity to work together? He replied that it was a great idea.”

Raj stressed that neither firm was under any obligation to each other, but that both firms’ clients regularly had need of the others’ services. “The deal allows both firms to give clients a rounder service and to be sure that the quality is consistent,” she added.

Pemberton Greenish partner Damian Greenish said there were no immediate plans for other deals, but a similar link up with a firm in an area that did not encroach on the current practice, such as family, would make sense.
