West Country firm Ashfords has made a trio of partnership promotions, with Flora Wood, Jason Squire and Michelle Bevan becoming partners in the employment and personal injury groups.

Neil Lyon, a property litigation specialist at Kimbells, has become a partner, effective from 1 May. Lyon joined the firm in July 2002 after spending nearly eight years in property litigation teams at two national law firms and a spell in-house.

Anand Doobay has become a partner in niche firm Peters and Peters, effective from 1 May. Doobay joined the firm’s fraud and regulatory department as an assistant solicitor in 1999, having trained at Lovells.

Ron Robinson of business rescue and restructuring specialist Begbies Traynor has been elected as president of R3, the professional association for insolvency, business recovery and turnaround practitioners.

Hewitsons has promoted two property lawyers, Tim Bacon and Yvette Morgan, to the partnership. Bacon, a specialist in development work for landowners, joined the firm as an associate at the end of 2003 from Eversheds in Cambridge. Commercial property lawyer Morgan joined the firm’s Northampton office last year from Denton Wilde Sapte.
