Eversheds joins diversity group after 2nd Tyco deal

Eversheds has become the first law firm to become a member of the diversity promoters Minority Supplier Development UK (MSDUK).

The news comes just weeks after Eversheds secured a second contract with engineering conglomerate Tyco, which will give financial rewards for diversity achievements (The Lawyer, 19 May).

The firm has become MSDUK’s thirty-eight member since it was formed two years ago, and joins other international businesses including Dell, Mastercard Worldwide, Merrill Lynch and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Eversheds procurement head, Jennifer Powell, said working with MSDUK will provide a link for ethnic minority-owned businesses that are unsure how to approach major City and international corporations.

Powell said: “Eversheds takes the issue of diversity extremely seriously. There is a strong business case for us and other large organisations like ours to engage with MSDUK and its members.”
