SENIOR LEVEL solicitors and specialist practitioners can now undertake a two-year masters degree as part of new post-qualification programmes being offered by Central Law Training (CLT).
The courses, provided in conjunction with De Montfort University, the University of the West of England and Staffordshire University, will run at 35 UK centres.
Solicitor Peter Hibbert, De Montfort's professor of legal practice, will act as director of the Specialist Masters Programme, which evolved as a result of the need of experienced solicitors for an advanced training programme.
Lawyers will study in two phases for seminars, face-to-face tuition, written work and practical research in eight different areas, including housing law and practice, criminal litigation and legal practice management.
“We decided to collaborate with CLT because they are the acknowledged leaders in the field of post-qualification legal training for lawyers,” says Hibbert. “I believe there will be a major demand for high-level specialist programmes of this nature.”
