Manchester’s new Administrative Court was officially launched last week as part of a campaign for more judicial representation outside London.
Birmingham, Leeds and Cardiff will also open courts this year. Speaking at the Manchester Civil Justice Centre, Davis Blank Furniss senior partner Peter Heginbotham said: “It makes sense for everyone to have fair access to justice in the region, just as they do in most other areas of law already, and that’s why I was keen to join and support the campaign for this welcome reform.”
Also present at the ceremony was Mr Justice Irwin, former chairman of the Bar Council. Other speakers included Mr Justice Langstaff, Sir Anthony May and Frances Patterson QC.
