True blue Buck steps into Chelsea chairman role

Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom’s European head has been promoted to chairman of Chelsea Football Club’s parent company Chelsea Village.

Bruce Buck is taking over the role from Chelsea Village’s colourful chairman Ken Bates who will continue to be non-executive chairman of the football club.

The Skadden Arps partner, who acts for Chelsea owner Russian multi-millionaire Roman Abramovich, was already a non-executive director in Chelsea Village, a position he took in July 2003.
