Brewer Ushers of Trowbridge is taking rival the Glamorgan Beer Co to court for allegedly supplying drinks to its pubs. Ushers will seek a court order banning Glamorgan from unlawfully interfering with contracts made with the tenants of its pubs. The company, represented by Milton Keynes-based Kimbell & Co, which recently filed the High Court claim in London, also seeks damages. It alleges in its claim that Glamorgan has supplied beer, cider and other drinks to two landlords, and has ignored contracts the tenants have with Ushers. It accuses Glamorgan of knowingly procuring tenants to breach beer tie contracts which oblige them to buy their drink from Ushers or its nominees, and not from any other supplier.
