Weil Gotshal looks to FTC for anti-trust drive

Weil Gotshal & Manges is continuing to build its anti-trust expertise by taking on two senior antitrust officials from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Ann Malester will join the firm’s Washington DC office as a partner after spending 26 year at the FTC where her latest role was as the deputy director of the Bureau of Competition. Her colleague Steven Bernstein who is also joining Weil Gotshal was with the bureau where he was assistant director.

The dual recruitment follows Weil Gotshal’s recent haul of anti-trust lawyers from Clifford Chance led by the highly-rated Steven Newborn.
