Ozannes has finally opened its Jersey office, six months after it announced its intentions to be the first Guernsey firm to make such a move.

The firm recruited Jersey advocate Marcus Stone from Jersey firm Crills to open and head the new office.

“This is something we have been planning for quite some time,” said Ozannes senior partner Roger Perrot.

Since Stone’s departure, Crills has entered into a merger with offshore powerhouse Walkers. Walkers originated in the Cayman Islands and has offices in the British Virgin Islands,in Dubai, in Hong Kong and in London but has not yet opened in Guernsey.

With Stone on board, the firm will initially focus on funds, corporate, banking and financial services.

Ozannes is the first of the Guernsey firms to launch in Jersey. Most of the movement has been the other way, with Bedell Cristin and Mourant du Feu & Jeune the most recent Jersey firms to open in Guernsey.
