Sainsbury’s has appointed a dedicated litigator, Tirpat Bhogal, to its in-house legal team.
She will replace John Lewis, who has left to undertake his pupillage at Lawrence Power’s chambers 4 King’s Bench Walk.
Bhogal comes from Thames Water, where she had been for three years, and will sit in the six-strong employment and civil disputes team led by Richard Lowe.
She will cover prosecution and general civil litigation work, excluding property.
Most property litigation work is outsourced to firms on the company’s newly created panel (The Lawyer, 21 January).
