Bird & Bird employment partners Corinne Aldridge and Helen Parker and a team of three associates have quit the firm to form their own niche employment practice.
The team joined from Denton Wilde Sapte in 2001 and is departing after just two years, taking the client base that it brought to the firm.
Aldridge was joint head of employment with Ian Hunter. She focuses on contentious issues and is known for advising high-profile banking and broking teams on moving companies. While at Dentons she successfully advised on the landmark gardening leave case GFI v Eaglestone.
Parker advises on contentious and non-contentious issues, including litigation in employment tribunals where she carries out her own advocacy in the Employment Appeals Tribunal and the High Court. Her expertise lies in discrimination issues.
A spokesperson for the firm said they would be replaced, adding: “We’re committed to our international employment practice.”
