BPP Law School has hired Chris Maguire as its first director of quality assurance and enhancement. Maguire joins from the Bar Council, where he has worked for the last 11 years monitoring legal education.
Davies Arnold Cooper has made a trio of lateral hires to its property team: Chris Baker joins from Denton Wilde Sapte, where he specialised in acting for developers; Nicola Sutton of Horsey Lightly Fynn in Newbury is experienced in commercial property; and associate Euan Lloyd joins from Herbert Smith, where he specialised in non-contentious construction and engineering.
Mishcon de Reya has elected two lawyers to its partnership: Ramona Mehta, co-founder of the firm’s media and public advocacy group, becomes a partner in the litigation group, while Ross Bryson, a corporate finance and M&A expert, becomes a partner in the corporate commercial department.
King & Spalding has hired Nick Thody from Weil Gotshal & Manges. English-qualified Thody joins as counsel in the firm’s London office.
