Washington DC’s Arnold & Porter has continued its attack on the New York market with the hire of two Thelen Reid & Priest partners.

Securities litigation specialists Richard Swanson and Veronica Rendon joined Arnold & Porter early in April. Swanson was co-chair of his former firm’s corporate and securities litigation group. The pair advise on securities and white-collar litigation, as well as on regulatory and transactional matters.

The hires follow January’s devastating eight-partner raid on Dorsey & Whitney’s New York office. The Dorsey group, boasting senior partners and practice heads, included the firm’s co-head of securities litigation and the head of financial services and hedge funds, as well as the former co-head of international litigation and arbitration.

Also in January, Arnold & Porter raided Texan firm Fulbright & Jaworski for a team of six securities enforcement lawyers.

“Richard Swanson and Veronica Rendon have a top-notch securities litigation and enforcement practice,” said Arnold & Porter chairman Michael Sohn. “Their skills will complement our recently expanded securities enforcement group in Washington.”
