The Law Society Council last week approved the allocation of a seat to the Black Solicitors Network (BSN). The seat, one of three held in reserve, will be filled after an election on 16 September. An overwhelming majority of council members voted in favour of the application. It is hoped that the seat will help remedy inequalities within the profession and provide better representation of black and Asian solicitors within the Law Society.
