Dundas, stephensons land lampposts sale

Dundas & Wilson and Stephenson Harwood have played key roles in the sale of EDF Energy’s street lighting business, Seeboard Trading Ltd, to Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE).

Stephenson Harwood acted for long-standing client EDF on the transaction, fielding a team led by PFI/PPP head Steven Wait.

Dundas parnter Keith Armstrong represented SSE, a long-standing client of the firm. Seeboard Trading finances and operates street lighting replacement and maintenance projects for Dorset County Council and the London boroughs of Ealing and Islington.

It covers around 90,000 street lighting columns under the PFI initiative and each has at least 20 years to run. Around 70 employees of EDF Energy transferred to SSE as a result of the sale.
