Russell Jones opens office in Edinburgh

UK firm Russell Jones & Walker has announced that it is to open an office in Edinburgh.

The firm plans to offer a full range of legal services, including personal injury, clinical negligence and employment advice.

Derek Reekie, partner at Drummond Miller, plans to join Russell Jones & Walker to head the new venture which will increase the firm's total number of offices to 10. One litigation executive and two support staff will work with him at the office, though further recruitment is anticipated.

Reekie says: “I am delighted to be joining a firm with an established reputation of being one of the leading firms in the country.

“I look forward to extending this reputation by offering our Scottish clients a service that is second to none, and one that is supported by a national team of experts in their field.”

Richard Langton, partner and national co-ordinator for personal injury at Russell Jones & Walker, describes the new Scottish office as “a testament to our continued expansion and our commitment to further investment”.

He adds: “As a national firm it is important that we are close to our clients and are able to offer a dedicated service in Scottish law.

“We are proud of the fact that we are one of a very small number of law firms to have a presence in each of the devolved assemblies.

“This new office adds to the reputation and strength we have gained through offering a truly dedicated local service.”

Russell Jones & Walker employs more than 500 staff, including in excess of 180 fee earners, across the UK.

It has been expanding its network of regional offices in what it sees as the major cities and towns, including London, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Cardiff.
