Corporate and IT jobs cut at Taylor Wessing

As previously revealed on www.thelawyer.com/news on 12 September, the firm is blaming the redundancies on the current economic slowdown and said the move has nothing to do with the merger, which went live on 1 September.
The 13 assistants being laid off are from Taylor Wessing's UK corporate and IT departments. They are being axed along with a “related number of secretaries”, according to a statement released by the firm.
It added: “Following a review of all areas of its business, Taylor Wessing has begun a process that is expected to result in a number of redundancies. Although most areas of the firm are unaffected, the firm does expect to lose approximately 13 fee-earners in its corporate department and IT group, with a related number of secretaries.
