Barclays deal gifts Norton Rose place on CDB panel

Norton Rose has won a place on the panel of Chinese sovereign wealth fund China Development Bank (CDB) after advising on its investment in Barclays.

The firm, which won the position after corporate partner Martin Scott guided CDB through its £1.5bn purchase of Barclays shares (TheLawyer.com, 23 July 2007), joins 10 other firms on the panel.

Magic circle firms Allen & Overy and Clifford Chance are the only other UK-based members of the panel, with the remaining eight slots taken by Asia Pacific firms Deacons, Li & Partners and Minter Ellison and US firms Baker & McKenzie, Jones Day, Latham & Watkins, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and White & Case.
