Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has picked partner Stéphane Salou as its new Paris managing partner, following the completion of the US firm’s merger with Rambaud Martel.
Jean-Michel Leprêtre, previously co-managing partner of Rambaud Martel, will support Salou in the new role.
Orrick announced it was to merge with French independent Rambaud Martel in November 2005, and the tie-up completed on 1 January 2006. The move saw 12 Rambaud Martel partners join Orrick.
Salans, Proskauer Rose and Reed Smith also picked up groups of partners and associates from the French firm as it dissolved.
European managing partner David Syed said the appointments of Salou and Leprêtre provided strength for the firm’s future development.
