Richards Butler has poached the head of Davies Arnold Cooper’s international trade, transport and competition unit Marjorie Holmes.
Holmes brings associate Lesley Davey with her. It is understood Davies Arnold Cooper is restructuring its competition department as a result of the departures.
Holmes has represented clients in a number of high profile investigations by the EC Commission including in insurance and shipping matters and has been closely involved in the EC Commission’s review of the application of competition law to the shipping sector.
Richards Butler competition and EU practice head Katherine Holmes said the expansion reflected the firm’s growing reputation in this sector.
“They (Holmes and Davey) will add another dimension of experience and expertise which we are able to offer; they will strengthen our capability and enable us to grow our practice further.”
