Former Landwell equity partner Nigel Frudd has joined Beachcroft Wansbroughs.

Frudd, whose experience includes stints as legal and strategy director at Rothschild’s European group and as group legal director at Scottish Amicable, spent around a year at Landwell. As reported on www.the lawyer.com (10 September), he joins Beachcrofts as its first ever head of financial services.

Frudd, who was a lateral hire into Landwell’s equity partnership last summer, left the accountancy-tied firm this July. He joined Landwell UK from financial services organisation Nascent Group at a time when the firm had just three equity partners. One of these partners, former managing partner Chris Arnheim, has also left the firm. Landwell now has four equity partners, including Jennifer Donohue, who was hired as an equity partner from Theodore Goddard (now Addleshaw Goddard) at the same time as Frudd.

On his appointment to Beachcrofts, Frudd said: “There is a clear opportunity for legal advisers to the financial services industry. It has seen unprecedented change in recent years, both on the regulatory and commercial fronts, and this is likely to continue well into the future, driving consolidation of the sector on a European-wide basis.”
