Lord Justice Brooke has succeeded Lord Justice Simon Brown as president of the civil division of the Court of Appeal. Judge Brooke was appointed a judge of the Queen’s Bench Division in 1988. Between 1993 and 1995, he served as chairman of the Law Commission prior to his promotion to the position of Lord Justice in the Court of Appeal in 1996.
