Niche IT firm, Kemp & Co has announced a whopping 68 per cent growth in fee income in its second year of practice. Turnover increased from ?0.8m to ?1.4m at the City based firm, which this week announced the launch of two new practice areas.
Sarah Porter was poached from Eversheds at the beginning of this month and will head up the new employment group as partner.
Lucy Vernall is being made up to become the firm's first corporate partner on 1 December, taking the number of partners to five.
And managing partner Richard Kemp says the firm has pulled in 60 new clients this year and the hunt is now on for a new commercial litigation partner.
He says: “We have made good progress this year and significantly extended the reach of our business. Fee income is substantially ahead and we go into our third year with radically increased bandwidth as a practice.
“We want to be an all round, all weather IT law practice known for advising at the highest levels in Europe,” he adds.
