Osbourne Clarke has placed IT partner Simon Rendell in charge of its London office, after former head Tim Birt was elected senior partner.
As part of the management reshuffle, Paul Gardner replaces Rendell as head of the firm’s commercial practice group. Gardner is a specialist in the video games and interactive entertainment industry.
Simon Beswick, Osbourne Clarke’s managing partner, said: “Our success in London is a critical part of the Firm’s growth both as a UK law firm and in our ability to attract international work.”
Rendell led the firm’s commercial practice group for 10 years before becoming head of the London office and winning his place on the firm’s partnership council.
The council consists of the heads of the London, Bristol and Reading offices as well as the firm’s managing partner, chief operating officer and Tim Birt, the firm’s senior partner.
