BAe legal chief leaves to head up IT company

BRITISH Aerospace legal director Stuart Caroll is to step down this week after three years with the company.
He will be taking on a new role as legal director of the Morse Group, a software company based in Brentford, west London.
Deputy legal director Terence Black says Caroll “chose to go”.
He continues: “We are bitterly disappointed at his departure. He did a substantial amount of work in terms of building up the legal department.”
Black says it is unlikely an internal candidate will be sought to replace Caroll. Michael Lester, vice-chairman and legal director at Marconi, is a potential successor if current negotiations between the two companies go well.
Caroll is currently on vacation and was unavailable to comment on his departure.
