In brief: Denton Hall in DBFO first

The contract hiving off the management of the A69 between Carlisle and Newcastle to the private sector under a new government initiative was drawn up by City firm Denton Hall. The contract between the Highways Agency and the Road Link Consortium, a group of six companies, is the first under the Department of Transport's Design, Build, Finance and Operate (DBFO) programme. Denton Hall is advising the Highways Agency on the initiative. Partner Ellen Gates said: “We have had to develop a new form of contract, drawing on our experience in infrastructure development, project finance and construction.”
