Lambeth Council launches panel review

The London Borough of Lambeth has begun a panel review to service its new-look legal function.

Among the firms currently on the panel are Bircham Dyson Bell, Eversheds, Nabarro, Sharpe Pritchard and TPP Law, all of which are in the corporate and PFI group.

The other seven parts of the panel feature Judge & Priestley for debt recovery; SA Law for education; Sharpe Pritchard for town planning; Steeles Law for property and litigation; and Sternberg Reed for social services.

Because the council has increased the size of its legal team significantly during the past year, from 40 to around 65 lawyers, the winning firms are likely to receive fewer instructions under the new contracts .
