Italian job for B&M

Baker & McKenzie has been appointed as English legal adviser to Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Roma (CRR), one of the two shareholders involved in the global offering of ordinary shares in Banco di Roma, one of the biggest privatisations implemented in Italy to date. Banco di Roma and the second shareholder, IRI, a joint stock company owned by the Italian treasury, are being advised by Clifford Chance and its associated Italian firm, Grimaldi. Sherman & Sterling and Studio Legale d'Urso are advising the global co-ordinators of the offering, Mediobanca, while Studio D'Alessandro is CRR's Italian legal adviser.
