Bevan Ashford goes for IT

BRISTOL firm Bevan Ashford is to install an intranet system at Bristol Law Society.

The firm, which has relaunched itself as a provider of technological as well as legal expertise, has already installed five personal computers at the society's offices and is also designing its Web site.

Bevan Ashford IT director Mike Robinson said the intranet would be installed by next spring.

The five-staff society is installing the intranet to help solicitors access information on local legal issues more efficiently.

Bevan Ashford has set up a subsidiary company, Bevan Ashford Systems, which offers law firms an IT consultancy service, including the creation of Web sites and staff training.

The company also produces a case management system, Bevan Ashford Claims Handling System (BACHS), which it designed five years ago.

Over the past two years the package has been bought by 12 practices.
