Two former partners from Haarmann Hemmel-rath’s Munich office have set up their own practice after leaving the firm earlier this year.
Andreas Oldenbourg and Simon Preisenberger have launched a new firm called Oldenbourg Plus, which specialises in corporate, M&A and private equity work. The duo has been joined by former Haarmanns associate Silke Pütz.
As first revealed by www.thelawyer.com (1 August), Oldenbourg quit Haarmanns along with Preisenberger just one week after name partner Wilhelm Haarmann announced that he was going to leave the firm.
Oldenbourg was one of the founding partners of the firm’s Munich operation and his departure was considered a big loss for the firm. Haarmann left following differences in opinion over the firm’s strategy, including its system of remuneration.
Following Haarmann’s announcement, the firm has suffered a series of departures from its Munich office. As reported in The Lawyer (24 October), Taylor Wessing snared two lawyers, partners Heinrich Rodewig and Thomas Kremplto, to boost its corporate team in Munich.
